About Me
Hi, my name is Adrienne, and I need art like I need air. I have been making art in various media for as long as I can remember, and taking photos since my aunt gave me a camera at 9 years old. Despite going to school for a “real job” and majoring in Mathematics, I have never been able to stop making art. My favorite things in the world are sunshine, flowers, cheese, puppies, and Star Wars.
The reason I take photographs, specifically, is to capture the beauty that I see in the world around me. I find beauty in so many things, and not just the obviously beautiful things that everyone finds beauty in. I also find beauty in pain, in decay, in all these things that others might say are ugly, or can hurt. But to me a life lived fully, having experienced so much, is beautiful. I might be getting all poetic and sappy, but that is truly my motivation and inspiration in my photography. I take a lot of photos of old run down cars and buildings, because they have lived a full life, suffered a bit, and here they are. I take photos of bodies, because bodies carry us through our whole lives, experiencing everything.
In my photography, I want to capture the world the way that I see it, gorgeous still in all its flaws, and show what I see to everyone else. I love color, light, and texture, and the tiniest spot of color or the way the light falls on something can catch my eye so magically. Everything I photograph is to bring attention to those details. If it moves me, I hope I can show you, and maybe move you too.
